Friends.
They are
something we all need, but sometimes they can just be too much to handle. I even wonder if I could have myself as a
friend at times. Trust me; I am not the
easiest person to be around all the time.
But then again, I can also prove to be quite a loyal friend.
So there it is: the ups and downs of friendship.
With these ups and downs comes both good and bad. It is hard, but to be a “good” friend one
must be able to control their inner emotions so that they are expressed
accurately. We often need someone to
express our emotions to, but sometimes this can come off as taking things out
on them. That is why it is important to
be in control. Everyone has their
moments, but it can seriously take a toll on a friendship if one person is not
properly controlling and expressing their emotions.
On the same note from a different perspective is that of the
receiver. When a friend comes to you for
a shoulder to lean on, you must be understanding of their situation and the possibility
of emotional imbalance. Although some
things may be misperceived, it is important to clear up any confusion before accepting
it as true.
When two friends develop a common ground, they will have an
easier time at communicating the proper messages between one another. Of course friends can get to be overwhelming,
but the importance
of friendship is undeniable.
Without friends, I know I would be at a loss. I am grateful for the people in my life, and
I am lucky enough to have some pretty great friends. But of course, to become such great friends
we had to set a common ground in which we each could understand. Once this common ground is in place, a friendship
will have the tendency to run much smoother.
I really like this post. It is a different approach to blogging, and different than I think any of the other posts we have had so far. You express a valid point tho. Friendships are hard, just as any other relationship. I don't care what people say. You cannot get threw life without friends. You don't need a lot..over time you find out who your true friends are and in the end they are the only ones that matter.
ReplyDeleteHaving personal connections like one experiences with friends is so important for the growth of an individual. You do a good job at making this clear. Dealing with people, in any circumstance, can be difficult. Every person views everything differently, from a different perspective. Keeping that in mind, it is no wonder that we all get annoyed with people from time to time.
